Description

This package involves a comprehensive review of the relationship between the rated trip current settings of branch circuit protective devices and the actual load demands of each circuit. We record the model and rated trip current of each device, measure actual running currents and short-term peak currents under typical load conditions using a clamp meter, and compare the two sets of values. We pay special attention to circuits where running current consistently approaches the trip curve or where peak currents frequently trigger the protection, as well as circuits whose load equipment has been upgraded with significant power changes from the original design.

For circuits where the setting is found too high, we assess whether over-protection leaves the conductor unprotected during overload; for settings too low, we evaluate whether nuisance tripping affects normal operation. For each circuit, we recalculate the maximum continuous current allowed based on conductor cross-section, installation method, and ambient temperature correction factors, and provide written recommendations for replacement or adjustment. The report includes a clear comparison table showing existing setting, measured current, and recommended setting for each circuit.

This review service’s circuit coverage and analysis depth are customized according to the scale of your distribution system and the diversity of load types. A deposit is required before starting, covering the on-site clamp meter setup and data collection labor, with the amount estimated based on the total number of circuits and load variety. After the review report is delivered, the final balance is calculated according to the actual number of circuits measured and the level of detail in the report.
