Description

This package is for reserved spare circuits that were installed during initial construction but never used, requiring a full status confirmation and activation process before connecting new equipment. We start from the distribution board outlet, tracing the spare circuit’s conduit or cable tray path with a cable locator to confirm physical continuity and check for any subsequent construction interception, crushing, or pinching. At the distribution board end, we perform insulation resistance and DC resistance balance tests to ensure no short circuits or insulation weaknesses exist between cores or to earth.

After confirming the circuit is sound, we apply a rated-current identification label and a dedicated spare-circuit tag to its protective device, and install a terminal sealing cap or insulate the conductor ends at the outlet point to prevent accidental exposure. We update the panel’s circuit identification chart to mark the status from “spare” to “confirmed available,” attaching final test data as a start-up record. If tests reveal continuity or insulation issues, we describe the fault location and recommended repair in the report for your decision before energizing new equipment.

This activation confirmation’s test items and acceptance criteria are customized according to the spare circuit’s installation age, conductor size, and the power rating of the planned equipment. A deposit is required before starting, covering the on-site survey with cable locators and insulation testers, with the amount estimated based on the number of spare circuits and total path length. After full confirmation and status update, the final balance is based on the actual number of circuits tested and report compilation work.
